About the Role
Support the department by creating routine mechanical design for new product parts, subassemblies, assemblies, or systems configurations using CAD systems. Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results in a cooperative and supportive manner. Maintain technical knowledge and adhere to company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Create multiple views of mechanical designs, depicting relationships of components and parts using CAD systems.
- Identify dimensions, angles, curvatures, tolerances, and materials; prepare bills of material and specifications.
- Compile Bills of Materials and assist in the assembly of prototypes.
- Create documentation required and process Engineering Change Orders; ensure adherence to designated quality and cost parameters.
- Assist in building/acquiring prototypes; test and analyze results.
- Perform calculations such as strength of materials, weights, simple forces, and stresses using charts and tables.
- Analyze the effect of proposed changes for proper fit and/or interference problems; recommend solutions or alternate construction.
- Modify drawings as required and confer with engineers to resolve issues.
- Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or its equivalent and 0+ years of experience in designing or engineering.
- Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within mechanical design or engineering.
- Applied experience with 3D CAD systems is a plus.
