Associate Design Director

About the role

Our client, a leader in the Pharmaceuticals & Biotech space, is seeking an Associate Design Director. This role will lead operational priorities where safety, quality, compliance, and execution discipline are central to success. You will collaborate with field leadership, support functions, and cross-functional stakeholders to improve accountability, service delivery, and operational consistency. The position offers the opportunity to influence operational scale, customer outcomes, and organizational performance within a life sciences environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead by contributing directly to the quality of design work
• Establish and communicate a clear creative vision
• Manage, mentor, and develop designers at various levels
• Collaborate as a strategic partner with product, engineering, and business teams
• Evaluate and ensure high standards for UX and UI deliverables
• Attract, hire, and build a culture of craft excellence within the design team
• Run effective design operations and manage workloads across team projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field, or equivalent experience (7+ years in design)
• 7+ years of design experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
• Strong portfolio demonstrating design expertise and leadership impact
• Ability to critique both UX and UI/Visual work effectively
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Compensation: $141,000 – $246,400 annually
