Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with our FFE design team to assist in managing and balancing multiple projects from design to all stages of FF&E production and installation coordination.
- Understand space and scale while ensuring a seamless alignment with all furniture and loose material selections support the design intent and RCG standards.
- Collaborate/assist with FF&E design manager to design and development of custom carpets, furniture and other architectural materials.
- Selects and specifies various FF&E catalogued pieces and/or custom relevant to the design brief.
- Reviews and tracks all FF&E submittals of each project.
- Coordinates with purchasing/procurement agent all specified furniture and accessories.
- Covers furniture reviews, factory visits and practicality reviews.
- Understands and applies FF&E design guidelines & standards, CADD & drawing standards, and contract references, assisting Supervisor with oversight that project materials are delivered on a timely basis.

- Occasionally attends meetings with sponsors (clients).
- Understands importance of maintaining client / consultant relationships studies, collects, shares, compares, and stores statistical information. Creates presentations for design management.
- Possesses cost consciousness in all aspects of work and understands importance of cost complexity balancing along with other cost control needs.
- Occasionally supports shop drawing review process, and yard / contractor coordination meetings and inspections during newbuilding process.
- Takes ownership of all assignments.
- Occasionally accepts assignments for design concepts, space planning, design development, drawings & details (elevations, sections, details) of designated venues.
- Represents department and self in a competent professional manner Is highly motivated, efficient, and organized.
- Has fundamental understanding of time management, with priorities being established by supervisor.
- Works on multiple projects, and multiple tasks under various team members. Has strong ability to maintain focus.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in interior design or interior architecture.
- Hospitality design or cruise ship design experience Cruise a must.
- 1 – 3 years FF&E specialist preferable.
- Keeps up with social and hospitality trends.
- Highly creative, resourceful and self-confident.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Understands materiality, space and scale with the ability to sketch.
- Knows furniture, fabrics, accessories, drapery, decorative lighting and other architectural finishes.
- Budget management skills.
- Positive attitude with an ability to adapt to a fast paced, dynamic, deadline-oriented environment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks with great time management skills.
- Auto CAD
- Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Physical Demands
- Ability to travel internationally or domestically 10% of the time at minimum.
