Associate, Debt Finance

About the role

A&O Shearman is seeking a mid-level associate to join our debt finance team in our New York office. Our debt finance practice focuses on syndicated financing in a wide range of finance transactions.

The salary range for this position is $365,000 to $435,000 depending on the candidate's JD year.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on a wide range of banking and finance matters as part of a team of attorneys.
• Draft and review leveraged finance commitment papers and credit agreements.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree (LLM or foreign equivalent) from an accredited law school.
• Must be admitted, and in good standing, to the bar in the jurisdiction in which you will practice; or must provide written confirmation as to ability to become admitted in that State or District.
• 4-7 years of experience focused on all aspects of debt finance.
• Solid debt and leveraged finance experience from a major law firm.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work well under pressure while managing time effectively.
• Class years 2021-2018.

Team

This individual will report directly to the New York debt finance partners and work closely with other partners, associates, and staff both in the U.S. and abroad.
