Associate Dean of Nursing and Chief Nursing Officer

King’s College invites applications for the position of Associate Dean of Nursing, a 12-month administrative faculty appointment. Serving as the Chief Nursing Administrator, the Associate Dean provides strategic leadership for all aspects of the Nursing Department, including academic program administration, resource stewardship, faculty leadership, and continuous quality improvement.

About the role

The Associate Dean is a key member of the College’s Academic Leadership Team and collaborates closely with academic leaders across the institution. The successful candidate will oversee the College’s nursing programs, including the 1-2-1 Dual Degrees in Nursing partnership with Luzerne County Community College (LCCC), the RN-to-BS in Nursing program, and the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program. The Associate Dean will also work collaboratively to develop graduate nursing programs and support program growth, student success, and academic excellence.

Teaching responsibilities are included, with workload distributed across teaching, program leadership, and administrative duties equivalent to 30 credits annually.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for the Nursing Department.
  • Oversee academic program administration, resource stewardship, faculty leadership, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Manage the College’s nursing programs, including partnerships and program development.
  • Collaborate with academic leaders across the institution.
  • Support program growth, student success, and academic excellence.
  • Teach courses as part of the administrative faculty workload.

Requirements

  • Doctorate in Nursing or a related field preferred; candidates demonstrating significant progress toward a doctoral degree will be considered.
  • Eligibility for Pennsylvania nursing licensure.
  • Minimum of five years of nursing education teaching experience.
  • Commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, service, and professional development.
  • Experience in nursing program accreditation, academic leadership, and program administration preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, students, healthcare partners, and community stakeholders.
  • Commitment to supporting the Holy Cross mission and Catholic identity of King’s College.
