About the role

The System Engineering Analytics Department at MITRE is seeking a Data Scientist to apply advanced analytics to government challenges. This role combines Systems Engineering with Data Analytics to develop comprehensive data analytic pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Apply cutting-edge tools and techniques to real-world problems
  • Develop and apply analytical models to sponsor challenges
  • Present findings in an understandable manner to non-technical stakeholders
  • Collaborate with government sponsors to understand their needs and provide actionable insights

Requirements

  • Passionate about using data analytics to solve complex problems
  • Ability to manipulate large datasets
  • Experience with Python, SAS, MATLAB, JavaScript, R, Java
  • Data visualization tools such as Tableau, QuickSight, PowerBI
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong verbal, written, and communication skills
  • Minimum 50% hybrid on-site work

Qualifications

  • Less than 1 year of related experience with a related Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • U.S. citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance
  • Demonstrated ability to manipulate large datasets
  • Experience with analytic tools such as Python, SAS, MATLAB, JavaScript, R, Java
  • Data Visualization tools such as Tableau, QuickSight, PowerBI, etc.
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Ability to formulate complex algorithms and processes to solve complex data problems
  • Minimum academic/project experience working with databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB)
  • Software Development experience in a shared environment leveraging tools such as GIT
  • Experience with full-stack development (e.g. HTML, JS, HTML, NodeJS, SQL, Python, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Candidates with a current/active US Government clearance preferred
  • Experience with databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB)
  • Software Development experience in a shared environment leveraging tools such as GIT
  • Experience with full-stack development (e.g. HTML, JS, HTML, NodeJS, SQL, Python, etc.)

Pay

$80,000 - $100,000 - $120,000 annual
