Qualifications
- Must possess Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Must be licensed to practice law in the United States and be in good standing
- Licensing in the State of Michigan is preferred
- Must have at least one (1) year of legal experience
- Must possess a valid driver’s license in the State of Michigan
- Must possess strong contract drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects effectively and simultaneously
- Must possess strong written communication and organizational skills
- Must possess the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with operational stakeholders
Duties and Responsibilities
- Cook up and manage commercial construction and renovation projects from planning through completion
- Serve as legal and operational liaison between internal stakeholders, contractors, architects, engineers, consultants, and vendors
- Collaborate with internal senior leadership for identifying key design concept elements for projects and able to articulate to architect vendors for design documents and eventual permitting documents
- Support lease administration, property acquisitions, dispositions, and related transactions
- Cook up contract execution, tracking, renewals, and compliance monitoring
- Cook up permitting processes for construction, renovation, occupancy, and related activities
- Monitor and support compliance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements
- Provide legal research and analysis on operational, regulatory, employment, healthcare, and corporate matters
