Qualifications

  • Must possess Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Must be licensed to practice law in the United States and be in good standing
  • Licensing in the State of Michigan is preferred
  • Must have at least one (1) year of legal experience
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license in the State of Michigan
  • Must possess strong contract drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects effectively and simultaneously
  • Must possess strong written communication and organizational skills
  • Must possess the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with operational stakeholders

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Cook up and manage commercial construction and renovation projects from planning through completion
  • Serve as legal and operational liaison between internal stakeholders, contractors, architects, engineers, consultants, and vendors
  • Collaborate with internal senior leadership for identifying key design concept elements for projects and able to articulate to architect vendors for design documents and eventual permitting documents
  • Support lease administration, property acquisitions, dispositions, and related transactions
  • Cook up contract execution, tracking, renewals, and compliance monitoring
  • Cook up permitting processes for construction, renovation, occupancy, and related activities
  • Monitor and support compliance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements
  • Provide legal research and analysis on operational, regulatory, employment, healthcare, and corporate matters
