Associate Counsel, PIP - Queens, NY (REMOTE)

About the role

For our client, we are seeking an Associate Counsel, PIP - Queens, NY (REMOTE) to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will focus on litigation support and legal analysis within a claims environment, with particular emphasis on coverage opinions, damages evaluation, and case defense. The attorney will partner closely with the Claims Department and other internal stakeholders to support arbitration, hearings, and trial-related matters. The position requires strong drafting, research, and case management skills in a high-volume legal setting. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Research applicable laws and draft legal documents, including briefs and opinions
• Provide coverage opinions and evaluate damages as requested by the Claims Department
• Prepare and handle arbitration submissions and examinations under oath
• Defend cases through trial or dispositive hearing as assigned

Qualifications

• 2 to 6+ years of litigation experience required
• Juris Doctor degree required
• Admission to the New York Bar required
• Licensed in good standing to practice law in New York
• Ability to travel for trials and hearings
• Skilled in clear and concise documentation of legal files
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities

Pay

$118,900 – $186,550 annually
