Associate Counsel - Nassau, NY (Remote)

For our client, we are seeking a Associate Counsel - Nassau, NY (Remote) to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will provide legal support on litigation matters within the insurance environment, with a focus on liability, damages, and claims-related analysis. The attorney will partner closely with the Claims Department and other internal stakeholders to help manage pleadings, discovery, depositions, and hearings. This position also involves representing assigned matters through trial and dispositive proceedings while delivering clear, practical legal guidance. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $118,900 – $186,550 annually Responsibilities Research applicable laws and prepare legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda Provide opinions on liability, damages, and value for the Claims Department Prepare and handle pleadings, motions, and discovery processes Conduct depositions, examinations before trial, and examinations under oath Defend assigned matters during trial or dispositive hearings Qualifications 2 to 6+ years of litigation experience in insurance defense and/or personal injury required Juris Doctor degree required Admission to the New York Bar required Licensed in good standing to practice law in New York with ongoing CLE compliance Ability to travel for trials, hearings, and meetings as necessary Proficient in clear and concise documentation of legal files Strong conflict resolution, organizational, and multi-tasking skills Benefits Remote work flexibility Access to professional development and continuing education Supportive team environment focused on career growth Involvement in significant legal matters within the insurance industry Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
