Associate Counsel - Austin, TX

Responsibilities

• Research laws and prepare legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda
• Provide opinions on liability, damages, and value for the Claims Department
• Draft and handle pleadings, motions, and discovery
• Defend cases at trial or dispositive hearings as assigned
• Conduct depositions/examinations before trial and examinations under oath

Qualifications

• 2-6+ years of litigation experience focusing on insurance, defense, or personal injury
• Juris Doctor degree REQUIRED
• Admission to the Texas Bar REQUIRED
• Licensed in good standing to practice law in Texas
• Ability to travel for trials, hearings, and depositions as needed
• Strong written documentation skills for clear communication
• Competency in following complex instructions and resolving conflicts
