Responsibilities
- Research laws and prepare legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda
- Provide opinions on liability, damages, and value for the Claims Department
- Draft and handle pleadings, motions, and discovery
- Defend cases at trial or dispositive hearings as assigned
- Conduct depositions/examinations before trial and examinations under oath
Qualifications
- 2-6+ years of litigation experience focusing on insurance, defense, or personal injury
- Juris Doctor degree REQUIRED
- Admission to the Texas Bar REQUIRED
- Licensed in good standing to practice law in Texas
- Ability to travel for trials, hearings, and depositions as needed
- Strong written documentation skills for clear communication
- Competency in following complex instructions and resolving conflicts
