About the Role
A leading global industrial manufacturer is seeking an Associate Counsel to join its legal team. This role offers a broad scope of responsibility including corporate law, contracts, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, and risk management. The position works cross-functionally with business leaders to support strategic initiatives while ensuring compliance with evolving domestic and international regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with internal legal leadership to support enterprise-wide legal strategy and business initiatives
- Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts
- Support intellectual property matters, including brand protection efforts
- Maintain corporate governance records and entity documentation
- Assist with distributor and channel partner matters, including terminations and related obligations
- Support export controls, trade compliance, and responsible sourcing initiatives
- Monitor and interpret legal and regulatory developments impacting operations across multiple jurisdictions
- Conduct legal research related to product compliance, safety standards, and emerging technologies
- Support compliance initiatives tied to product performance, cybersecurity, and evolving technical regulations
- Cover regulatory requirements for product performance, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies
- Coordinate with internal engineering, product, and external testing bodies on regulatory requirements
- Prepare compliance summaries and deliver updates to internal stakeholders
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD)
- 3–5 years of corporate legal experience (law firm and/or in-house)
- Strong foundation in contracts, compliance, and general corporate matters
- Experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, or technology-driven businesses
- Exposure to regulatory frameworks and technical standards (e.g., safety, quality, or engineering-related)
