About the Role

Help shape the schedules behind one of the largest school construction programs in the country. As an Associate Scheduler with LAUSD's Facilities Services Division, you'll work directly with contractors and project teams to keep critical path construction schedules accurate, transparent, and on track — using Primavera P6 to turn complex baseline and monthly updates into clear, actionable analysis that protects project timelines across multiple school sites.

Responsibilities

  • Review contractors' initial P6 baseline schedules, catching missing scope, logic gaps, or milestones, and identify and analyze the critical path
  • Evaluate monthly P6 schedule updates, documenting milestone and critical path slippage and delivering full schedule analysis using LAUSD's structured review templates
  • Build custom activity filters, layouts, and bar charts in P6 to help the project management team pinpoint critical path issues
  • Perform QA/QC on contractor schedule submittals, validating logic ties and confirming conformance with scope, terms, and scheduling guidelines
  • Maintain program-level standard codes, layouts, and reports to protect data integrity
  • Create Earned Value Curves per LAUSD's EVA template guidelines
  • Prepare reports and support scheduling management as needed

Requirements

  • 3+ years of full-time professional scheduling experience working for an Owner or General Contractor (educational facilities, public works, or multi-project program experience preferred)
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 (latest version) and the MS Office Suite
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, drawings, and contract specifications to understand full project scope
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to build effective working relationships with project teams and department staff
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in architecture, engineering, construction management, construction engineering, or a related field

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, construction engineering, or a related field.

Why This Role

  • Work on a high-profile, high-impact public infrastructure program
  • Hands-on exposure to multiple concurrent school construction projects
  • On-site collaboration with an experienced project management team
  • Assignment through September 30, 2026 (position through September 30, 2028)
