About the role

A&M's Corporate Finance practice advises various clients through the full deal lifecycle, from M&A advisory to capital raises and strategic alternatives. Our team brings deep sector expertise and a hands-on advisory model to ensure transactions are completed successfully.

Responsibilities

  • Own all financial modeling and quantitative analysis on engagements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and presentation quality.
  • Build and maintain complex financial models and valuation analyses, including LBO, DCF, comparable company, and precedent transaction analyses.
  • Run structured data collection processes, control information flow across workstreams, and cross-check figures to ensure integrity.
  • Coordinate day-to-day execution across active mandates, managing timelines, workstreams, and deliverables to drive transactions forward with minimal senior oversight.
  • Oversee the preparation and quality of origination and execution materials, including confidential information memoranda, management presentations, buyers lists, data room indices, and pitchbooks.
  • Lead due diligence workstreams and support capital markets processes, anticipating needs and managing information requests between client teams and counterparties.
  • Manage, train, and mentor Analysts across both origination and deal execution, setting a high bar for quality and fostering their development.
  • Interact directly and credibly with clients and senior team members; take an active role in informal presentations and participate meaningfully in client meetings.
  • Demonstrate strong initiative, understanding the full context of each engagement, identifying next steps proactively, and operating with the judgment and independence expected at the Associate level.
  • Build internal relationships across A&M's broader platform, including Transaction Advisory, Restructuring, and sector teams, to identify and pursue cross-practice collaboration opportunities.
  • Actively seek external marketing exposure; develop client relationships and market presence that will define your career trajectory at A&M.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or Accounting preferred; minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5.
  • Minimum 3 years of investment banking experience at the Analyst level required; experience at a bulge bracket, middle market, or boutique advisory firm preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in M&A execution, including buy-side and sell-side processes, due diligence, and transaction documentation.
  • Expert-level three-statement financial modeling — fast, accurate, and independent; output will be relied upon by senior deal team members without detailed review.
  • Deep knowledge of valuation methodologies including comparable company analysis, precedent transactions, DCF, LBO, and sum-of-the-parts.
  • Knowledge of capital markets and investment banking products across debt, equity, and M&A.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Bloomberg.
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills; ability to present clearly and confidently in both internal and client-facing settings.
  • Proven ability to manage and mentor junior team members while simultaneously driving execution across multiple workstreams.
  • Strong work ethic, sharp attention to detail, and high level of integrity.
