Associate Corporate Counsel, Products Legal - AWS
About the role
Amazon's Legal Department is looking for a talented attorney to help support Amazon's internal technology sourcing teams and other IT teams. This position is on the Products Legal team within Amazon Web Services. In this role, you'll support strategic enterprise-wide technology deals for tools and services used by global Amazonians, including emerging technologies like AI tools. You will develop strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business-centric ways, and you will build processes that address risk and allow the business to innovate and scale quickly. The successful candidate will be inquisitive, enthusiastic about technology, enjoy working hard and being continually challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations. About the team
Our Enterprise Tech Sourcing Legal team fits within AWS Products Legal, and we support business teams within Amazon and AWS for technology transactions and product developments and launches.
Responsibilities
- Reviewing, drafting and negotiating agreements (including hosted services agreements, software licensing agreements, professional services agreements, and other commercial contracts)
- Partnering with the business to develop and launch products and services Amazon employees use and depend on
- Identifying legal risks and proposing mitigation strategies, and overseeing privacy, regulatory and contractual compliance
Basic qualifications
- 2+ years of legal experience
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- Experience in private practice or in house experience at a technology company or equivalent
Preferred qualifications
- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
Pay
USA, WA, Seattle - 131,500.00 - 178,000.00 USD annually. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
