Associate, Corporate Business Valuation - Valuation Advisory
About the role
Impact You’ll Make: Stout’s Valuation Advisory professionals produce sophisticated, supportable, and efficient valuations and serve as trusted advisors to corporate and private equity clients. We help organizations comply with internal and external financial and corporate tax reporting requirements by providing accurate and defensible valuations built on technical expertise and robust valuation processes to withstand audit and regulatory scrutiny. As one of the largest independent valuation practices in the country, we provide specialized experience across a broad spectrum of industries, asset classes, and geographies. Associates in Stout’s Corporate Valuation Advisory practice work on a variety of assignments, including the valuation of privately held and publicly traded operating companies and their assets. In addition, Associates contribute to various strategic initiatives supporting Stout’s expansion objectives.
Responsibilities
- Perform enterprise and equity valuations using accepted methodologies, including discounted cash flow analyses, capitalization of earnings, and market-based approaches (e.g., comparable companies, merger and acquisition transactions)
- Prepare written valuation reports for client presentations and develop supporting workpapers and documentation for audit support
- Develop client interaction and participate in due diligence meetings
- Conduct and oversee company, industry, and economic research
- Analyze general economic conditions and industry specific conditions and trends
- Deliver comprehensive valuation services to address financial, tax, and regulatory needs
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in business valuation
- The preferred candidate will have prior experience in purchase price allocations, impairment testing and other financial reporting related assignments, and corporate tax valuations
- Strong familiarity with applicable accounting standards, including ASC 820 – Fair Value Measurement, ASC 805 – Business Combinations; ASC 350/360 - Goodwill Impairment and Long-Lived Asset Testing; and ASC 718 / IRC 409a stock-based compensation
- A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or another quantitative field is required
- Strong knowledge of key financial models and valuation methodologies
- Professional designations such as CFA, CPA, or ASA are preferred
- Intermediate/advanced understanding of economics, financial theory and/or principles of accounting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient computer skills (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). Knowledge of S&P Capital IQ, Bloomberg, and other research platforms is a plus
- Relationship-focused with clients, peers, management, etc.
- Excels in a team-oriented work environment with a positive and enthusiastic attitude

Qualifications

Pay
Reasonable estimate of the current range is $74,000.00 - $135,000.00 Annual. This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
