Associate Copywriter

This role is based in our state-of-the-art headquarters with a bright, spacious workspace, scenic views of the Rocky Mountains, and a kitchen stocked with healthy snacks, protein powder, and coffee. We offer a hybrid work environment with a minimum of three days in the office, with flexibility in scheduling.
About the Role
We’re seeking a whip-smart, fitness-obsessed writer to support REP’s content team in a high-impact, part-time role. You’ll use the power of words to help introduce REP to the world—from writing product descriptions and marketing emails to creating video scripts and must-read features on our blog. The ideal candidate has a creative heart and an organized mind, loves dreaming big as much as making to-do lists, and has a well of fitness knowledge to share. Attention to detail is essential, and you’ll thrive in a team of wordy weirdos where you can learn and grow.
Responsibilities
- Write product page descriptions and marketing materials to support new product launches.
- Write articles for the blog as needed.
- Support brand campaigns and company initiatives with written content, video scripts, email copy, and more.
- Ensure all content is optimized for SEO and adheres to our brand voice.
- Edit blog posts for quality, tone, accuracy, and SEO.
- Edit newsletters and social posts as needed.
- Make updates to existing blog content and product pages.
- Maintain internal documentation (e.g., style guide, brand guidelines), manage our freelancer pool, and help the team stay on top of projects using tools like Monday and Teams.
- Work cross-functionally with ecommerce, creative, engineering, newsletter, and product teams.
- Coordinate video and photo shoots with creative teams.
Requirements
- Exceptional writing skills; while this role involves editing, writing ability is prioritized.
- Well-versed in grammar, AP style, and Chicago Manual Style.
- Fitness expertise; this role deals heavily with exercise content and fitness/nutrition products. Certifications (e.g., CPT, CSCS, BS in Kinesiology, Precision Nutrition) are a plus but not required. Ability to translate technical details and studies into consumer-facing copy is essential.
- SEO + AEO knowledge; understanding of LLMs, EEAT, and creating person-first keyword content.
- Experience with project management software (e.g., Monday, Asana, Notion, AirTable).
- Strong communication skills; proactive, collaborative, and practices radical candor.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university, ideally in Journalism, Marketing, or Communications; or 3 years of experience as a copywriter.
- 5-7 years of copywriting experience.
- Additional fitness knowledge/certifications are strongly preferred.
