About the role

As a Continuous Improvement Engineer at Perrigo, you will provide technical support for incident and deviation investigations across all commercialized products at Perrigo facilities within Michigan. You will drive continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of manufacturing processes while adhering to cGMP and FDA regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise and support to identify root causes of incidents and deviations.
  • Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to prevent reoccurrence of incidents and deviations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate investigations and ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential areas of improvement in manufacturing processes.
  • Utilize Lean Six Sigma methodologies and tools to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collect and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Stay updated with industry best practices and technological advancements to enhance continuous improvement efforts.
  • Support Operator-Driven Reliability (ODR) activities by helping define base equipment conditions, inspection points, and lubrication standards.
  • Partner with operations and maintenance to identify and eliminate sources of contamination and hard-to-access areas.
  • Provide technical guidance to ensure ODR routines strengthen equipment reliability and align with continuous improvement objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in engineering, chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of principles, concepts, and practices in pharmaceutical sciences and manufacturing processes.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff at all levels.
  • Strong technical writing skills and familiarity with cGMP and FDA regulations.
  • Experience with operator-focused reliability programs (ODR, Autonomous Maintenance, TPM) preferred.
  • Familiarity with cGMP, FDA regulations, including experience with investigations and/or developing and recommending process improvements.
  • Computer literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and Word); SAP experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently on multiple concurrent projects with minimal guidance and meet project deadlines.
