Associate Consultant (Experiened -US)
About the Role
Putnam is seeking top performers to join our firm as an Associate Consultant. You will gain insight into the strategic issues facing today's life sciences companies and the specific challenges impacting the healthcare industry. The role offers an opportunity to develop comprehensive knowledge of both the science and business sides of healthcare.
Associates work in case teams of 4-7 professionals led by a Manager or Partner. Responsibilities vary by case but include developing building blocks to identify critical issues, creating key analytical components, and driving conclusions and recommendations. This process helps Associates build sound business and strategy fundamentals while solving complex business issues.
Our team-based approach is client-focused and impact-oriented, serving many industry leaders, including all of the top 10 global biopharmaceutical companies. Our studies combine sophisticated quantitative analytics with qualitative fact-finding and synthesis to inform strategic decision-making. Casework spans portfolio prioritization, development pathway and resource optimization, market assessment, product pricing and launch strategies, market segment growth strategies, sales and marketing strategies, franchise development, and patent expiration strategies.

Responsibilities
- Work in case teams to identify critical issues and develop key analytical components.
- Drive conclusions and recommendations through rigorous analysis and synthesis.
- Contribute to diverse projects, including portfolio prioritization, market assessment, pricing strategies, and launch planning.
- Combine quantitative analytics with qualitative fact-finding to support strategic decision-making.
Requirements
- Highly intelligent and self-motivated with a strong work ethic and robust attention to detail.
- Demonstrated excellence and leadership during academic and professional experiences.
- Proven analytic abilities, a rigorous quantitative background, and strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong interest in life sciences and a collaborative teamwork mindset.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher (3.5 or better preferred).
- Economics, finance, or science majors are especially well-suited for this role.
Note: This is not an entry-level MBA position.
