First American is looking to add an Associate Commercial Underwriter to our growing team. This position plays a key role in transforming commercial real estate experience by empowering our employees and customers to deliver next-generation solutions and results.
Responsibilities
- Serve as an underwriting resource by supporting, advising, and authorizing customers on issues related to the issuance of real estate title insurance commitments and policies
- Exercise decision making authority, according to underwriting standards and guidelines, to underwrite the issuance of the title insurance
- Provide guidance to company personnel in the performance of real estate settlement services
- Issue underwriting standards and guidelines in accordance with established company processes
Requirements
- High School Diploma Required, Bachelor's Degree preferred
- 1-4 years of experience in underwriting, title, escrow or real estate related field preferred
- Must be familiar with real estate law, including federal and state regulations
- Strong understanding of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of real estate title and settlement process
- Strong, customer focused negotiation skills with an emphasis on effectively communicating analytical responses
- Able to collaborate and act decisively; build relationships internally and externally
- Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and timely follow up
- Critical thinking and creative solutions
Qualifications

Pay Range: $32.31 - $43.05 Hourly
Schedule
This position is hybrid to the Phoenix office. We are open to considering out of area, remote applicants.
