Associate Collections Representative

This position is remote in Minnesota or Wisconsin. You will have the flexibility to work remotely as you take on challenges in partnership with Allina Health. About the role

This position is responsible for receiving and initiating calls with patients to collect payments and settle accounts. You will follow up on accounts, process payments, update incomplete or missing account information, collaborate with patients to create payment arrangements, and counsel patients on financial assistance programs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the resolution of unpaid accounts
• Receives and resolves calls from patients, insurance companies, attorneys, and departments
• Obtains and processes payments
• Collaborates with patients to create payment arrangements
• Updates incomplete and missing account information
• Documents collection activities
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma / GED
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• 1+ years of experience working in healthcare billing, healthcare collections, or healthcare accounts receivable
• Reside within the state of Minnesota or Wisconsin
• Ability to work full time, Monday - Thursday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm CST and Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm CST
• Although not common, ability to travel onsite to 2925 Chicago Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55407 for major computer issues
• Equipment pick-up is required on day one if you reside within 2 hours of 2925 Chicago Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55407. For those outside the area, equipment will be shipped
• Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group-approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service
• Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
• Must keep all company-sensitive documents secure (if applicable)

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of EPIC or similar EMR systems experience

Pay

The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 - $29.00 per hour based on full-time employment.

Schedule

• Full-time, Monday - Friday
• Normal business hours: Monday - Thursday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm CST and Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm CST
• It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime
• On-the-job training during normal business hours, Monday - Friday
