About the role

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is seeking a Cloud Engineer to maintain and enhance capabilities in support of DAF CLOUDworks at the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL) in Rome, NY.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance capabilities in support of DAF CLOUDworks
  • Provide technical support of customers leveraging DAF CLOUDworks
  • Interface with multiple, geographically disbursed teams and effectively communicate project statuses and blockers
  • Support 24x7 on-call

Requirements

  • Track record as an effective communicator and problem solver
  • Able to follow Agile Development process and full life cycle development
  • Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret with Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI)
  • Able to obtain IAT Level II certification per DoD 8570.01 such as CASP+ or Security+
  • Familiarity with infrastructure components, including network, storage, Linux/Windows, and IT security concepts
  • Knowledge of Cloud-based technologies (AWS Platform, Azure Platform, Google Cloud)
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools (Atlassian suite: Jira, Confluence)

Qualifications

  • Associate Cloud Engineer (level 1): High school diploma with 4 years of relevant experience OR bachelor’s degree with 0 years of relevant experience
  • Cloud Engineer (level 2): High school diploma with 6 years of relevant experience OR bachelor’s degree with 4 years of relevant experience OR master’s degree with 0 years of relevant experience

Skills

  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Microservices
  • Git for code management (ArgoCD, Flux, Gitlab)
  • Cloud-based networking (ACL, Security Groups, WAF)
  • Account management solutions (RBAC, AWS IAM, Azure AD)

Benefits

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.

Pay

Primary Level Salary Range: $69,300.00 - $103,900.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $83,400.00 - $125,200.00

Schedule

Travel: Yes, 10% of the Time
