Job Description

Provide education and training to families of children with autism, educational personnel, members of the community, and significant others in the north central region of West Virginia. Assigned to, but not limited to, the following counties: Marion, Taylor, Harrison, Doddridge, and Lewis. This is an off-campus position. Ideally, the candidate would live in or within 20 miles of the assigned counties.

Essential Job Duties

  • Lead and conduct family-centered planning activities and provide multi-tiered positive behavior supports to registered individuals diagnosed with ASD, family members, caregivers, educators, and others significant to their lives.
  • Facilitate training, coaching, and the development of a Positive Behavior Support (PBS) plan through collaboration with team members.
  • Develop and provide various community and educational trainings on PBS and special topics related to autism for registered clients, families and community partners of the WV ATC.
  • Deliver informational and/or educational training programs to local communities.
  • Develop and provide various community and outreach resources.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to perform all essential job duties as outlined in the job description.
  • Required Qualifications:
    • Master’s Degree in a human service discipline such as Education, Special Education, Psychology, Counseling, Communication Disorders, Behavior Analysis, or a related field.
    • A minimum of 2 years experience providing professional, direct supports to individuals with autism and/or other developmental disabilities.
    • Skills necessary to carry out work duties in both live and virtual formats.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience working with families and communities.
    • Experience with experimental research designs.
    • Experience with functional assessments.
    • Experience with developing and implementing individualized skill development programs.
    • Experience with community and educational training.
