Associate Civil/Highway Engineer

Responsibilities

• Work will include horizontal & vertical alignment design, roadway 3D modeling, estimating, quantity calculations, technical reports, plan details, and detailed engineering analysis.
• Interface with CAD designers, other engineers, and clients.
• Gain great experience in transportation engineering across the nation.
• Prepare a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes.
• Perform standard engineering computations, material quality takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
• Prepare detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
• Review small and portions of larger supplier drawing submittals and assist in performing technical bid analyses.
• Prepare and issue specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
• Provide input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.

Requirements

• A 4-year degree in Civil Engineering (or related field).
• 0-2 years or more of related work experience.
• Basic process engineering knowledge.
• A working knowledge of CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering.

Desired Skills

• Prior internship experience working with the state DOT.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate.
• Familiarity with design software: Microstation, Inroads, and Excel.
