Associate Chemist - Environment Testing - PFAS Prep - 2nd Shift, M-F
About the role
The Associate Chemist position at Eurofins Environment Testing involves preparing and analyzing environmental samples using standard analytical techniques. This role requires adherence to Eurofins Environment Testing's Quality Assurance programs and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Responsibilities
- Performs routine lab tasks to gain familiarity with methods, practices, and programs.
- Prepares samples using standard techniques.
- Carries out chemical analysis using standard techniques.
- Evaluates and quantifies data.
- Records and reports data and any unusual test occurrences to the supervisor.
- Performs routine instrument maintenance.
- Keeps personal training documentation current and accurate.
- Timely completion of assigned/scheduled Quality Control (QC) samples (MDL, LOD/LOQ, PT).
- Documents Non-Conformance Management System (NCM) for projects with quality issues.
- Utilizes backlog reports to manage personal workload.
- Ensures general housekeeping in work area.
- Follows appropriate protocols in organic preparation, metals preparation and analysis, PFAS sample preparation, gas chromatography/mass spectrometry, radio chemistry, wet chemistry, high resolution preparation and analysis, low resolution preparation and analysis.
- Works under close supervision using routine and standard methods.
- Meets deadlines and maintains accuracy while balancing multiple tasks.
- Applies critical thinking to evaluate options and make decisions.
- Collaborates effectively to support department productivity goals.
- Coordinates tasks and communicates effectively both verbally and in writing.
Qualifications
- Basic Minimum Qualifications: BS or BA in Chemistry or related field, or 2 years of related laboratory experience in lieu of degree.
- Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English.
- Authorization to work in the United States without restriction or sponsorship.
- Ideal Candidates Will Have:
- Previous experience with organic sample prep.
- Previous experience in a lab or production setting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to identify issues, analyze root causes, and propose practical solutions.
- Effective collaboration skills to contribute to team goals and support department productivity goals.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable using mathematical formulas and tools to perform calculations and analyze data.
- Able to work independently, following written or verbal instructions with minimal oversight.
- Strong interpersonal skills; able to coordinate tasks and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Additional Information
Pay rate: $18-19/hour + 10% shift differential.
Please note - Eurofins Environment Testing (USA) provides a compensation range for informational purposes, the actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience and skill set, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location.
