Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform chemical testing of raw materials, in-process, and final products.
- Set up, calibrate, maintain, and operate basic lab equipment such as FTIR, spectrophotometer, refractometer, and pH meters.
- Perform product analysis based on product needs: API analysis, excipients, matrixes, supplements, colors, blends, flavors, etc.
- Auxiliary in the maintenance, review, and updates of work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Support technologists and lab assistants with in-process-control, sampling and hold program.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, production, and regulatory affairs.
- Support other laboratory functions.
- Participate in out-of-specification (OOS) investigations and root cause analysis.
Required Qualifications
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in science, or commensurate combination of education, internships, and work experience.
- Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs): Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word; Strong technical writing skills and the ability to create technical documentation; Ability to interpret and apply Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) regulations; Strong analytical, decision-making, technical, organizational, planning, and written communication skills; Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry; Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization; Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in chemistry or related field.
- Certified training using relevant instruments or techniques.
- Previous experience with laboratory information management or laboratory execution systems (LIMS/LES).
