Associate Chemist - 2nd Shift, M-F

About the Role
This role is on the 2nd shift (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM, Monday through Friday). Training will be conducted on 1st shift (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday).
Responsibilities
- Applies GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate
- Demonstrates and promotes the company vision
- Performs skilled analytical procedures accurately and precisely without supervision
- Writes and updates SOPs and analytical methods
- Learns new analyses with minimal guidance
- Understands and troubleshoots laboratory instrumentation and procedures
- Communicates results and interpretation of results to clients
- Maintains a superior level of QC performance
- Helps coordinate work of technicians to meet hold times, rush, promised, and standard laboratory turnaround times
- Determines if rush requests can be accommodated based on sufficient knowledge of department operations
- Verifies assigned analyses
- Trains others in analytical procedures, principles, instrumentation, and safety practices
- Assists technicians and laboratory assistants as needed
- Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field (equivalent relevant experience may substitute for a degree)
- Computer skills
- Ability to stand at lab bench for long periods of time
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
- Lab experience, including benchwork and instrumentation
- Ability to interact well with co-workers and problem-solve
- Understanding of statistics
- Strong writing skills
Pay
Pay rate: $18–$20 per hour, plus a 10% shift differential.
