About the role
The Associate Special Procedure Tech provides direct care pre, intra, and post for patients undergoing Heart and/or Vascular procedures. Duties include assisting physicians, delivering quality patient/family centered care, performing IV starts, preparing patients, monitoring hemodynamics, operating equipment, documenting procedures, managing vascular access sites, and providing patient/family education.
Responsibilities
- Assists physicians during Heart and/or Vascular procedures

- Documents procedures accurately
- Manages vascular access sites
- Provides patient/family education
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited radiography program (JRCERT) for Interventional Radiology
- Graduation from a Cardiovascular Technologist program, associate degree in cardiovascular technology/basic science, Paramedic license, Exercise Physiologist, or equivalent training and/or education for Cath Lab/EP Lab
- Clinical experience required through graduation of one of the above-listed programs
- Experience in EP, Cath Lab, or IR preferred for Interventional Radiology
- Recommended previous experience as a Radiology or Interventional Tech for Interventional Radiology
- BLS certification and active RT status upon hire for Interventional Radiology
- BLS upon hire and ACLS within 6 months for Cath Lab
- IABP certification within 120 days of hire for Interventional Radiology
- BLS upon hire and ACLS within 6 months for EP Lab
Qualifications

Skills
- Proficiency in medical terminology
