About the role
The Associate Buyer assists with purchasing decisions, performs analysis, and takes on increasing responsibility in the buying process while working closely with the Buyer. This role involves managing a specific product category or part of the buying process.
Responsibilities
- Assist in selecting products, analyzing customer preferences, and reviewing sales data.
- Provide input during the product assortment process under the guidance of the Buyer.
- Support the Buyer in maintaining supplier relationships, managing product deliveries, and providing order information.
- Track sales performance of products, analyze trends, and identify stock gaps.
- Use data to recommend changes to inventory or product selection.
- Help manage financial aspects of purchasing, including cost tracking and maintaining margin goals.
- Assist in placing orders, managing stock levels, and ensuring smooth supply chain operations.
Requirements
- 2–3 years of experience in retail or buying.
- Strong analytical skills and a good understanding of product categories.
- Ability to manage relationships with suppliers.
- Proficiency in inventory management and sales analysis.

Pay
$76,000 – $85,000 per year.
Schedule
This is a full-time position. Occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required during periods of high volume.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to talk or hear.
- Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to work in an open environment with fluctuating temperatures and standard lighting.
- Ability to work on a computer and mobile phone for multiple hours with frequent interruptions.
- Required to travel in elevators or stairwells to attend meetings across multiple floors.
- Occasional hotel, airplane, and car travel may be required.
