Associate Buyer

About the Role

As an Associate Buyer, you will be responsible for replenishing inventory through analyzing data and use of business systems to make the proper buying decisions. You will buy products at the lowest costs, expedite product status with suppliers, and communicate/manage exceptions with internal and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Review daily purchasing reports and system recommendations to determine proper quantities and items to purchase, then create purchasing documents to send to suppliers.
• Assist in the execution of stock replenishment, special order (SO), and drop ship (DS) buying where assigned, making decisions based on the most economical method considering quantities, order minimums, prepaid terms, and mode of transportation.
• Follow up with suppliers concerning order status and delivery, and communicate delivery information to impacted departments.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree in Business or related field required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• 1 year of purchasing experience within a supply chain environment preferred.
• Knowledge of industry including suppliers, customers, and competitors preferred.
• Knowledge of purchasing and inventory concepts is required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Strong computer skills.

Pay

$25.41 - $31.77 per hour. This amount reflects the range we reasonably believe we will pay for the position, though final offers may vary based on factors such as geographic location, relevant education, experience, qualifications, skills, shift, or any collective bargaining agreements. For eligible positions, compensation may include participation in a bonus or sales incentive plan, and certain sales roles may also offer a commission structure based on sales results.
