Associate Buyer
About the role
The Associate Buyer serves as a key liaison between plant operations and the supply base, primarily responsible for the procurement of capital equipment and related goods and services, including tooling, ancillary equipment, and coordination of delivery and installation activities.
Responsibilities
- Manage the procurement of capital equipment and related purchases, including tooling, ancillary equipment, and associated services, ensuring timely delivery and support of project requirements.
- Cook up with suppliers and internal stakeholders to facilitate project execution, including delivery schedules, installation activities, issue resolution, and ongoing communication as needed.
- Execute procure-to-pay activities, including purchase order processing, order acknowledgments, expediting, receipt reconciliation, returns, and invoice discrepancy resolution.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal customers and external suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective support of operational requirements.
Requirements
- An associate's degree and 2+ years of procurement or supply chain experience, or a high school diploma/GED and 3+ years of relevant procurement experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- The ability to work independently while effectively managing multiple priorities and projects.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
- Proficiency with computer systems and data analysis tools, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-focused mindset and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Qualifications

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
