Associate Buyer

Independence Realty Trust, Inc (NYSE: IRT) is a real estate investment trust that owns and operates multifamily apartments, currently managing over 36,000 apartment homes across 120+ communities in 30+ markets and 14 states.

About the role

The Associate Buyer will support value-driven sourcing across the enterprise, focusing on vendor identification, vendor management, and operationalizing a documented sourcing process. Must reside in or near Philadelphia, PA.

Responsibilities

• Work with Buyers, operations, project managers, and leadership to operationalize a documented sourcing process.
• Deliver value to the organization while supporting business needs, communicating timelines, developing project approaches, and generating buy-in.
• Conduct hands-on data collection to support category sourcing approaches and performance measurements.
• Work on ERP solutions (Entrata and Epicor), bidding software (Procuria), and other platforms to ensure data accuracy and timeliness.
• Support the Supply Chain team with organization-wide communications.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, company leadership, and vendors to strengthen Supply Chain integration.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in procurement, data management, purchasing, strategic supply chain services, sourcing methods, and/or logistics.

Skills

• Strong analytical skills.
• Excellent communication, persuasion, and negotiation skills.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and experience maintaining ERP systems.
