About the role

As an Associate Buyer, you will support the tactical execution of material requirements planning (MRP) and purchasing activities for the Winslow Site. In this role, you’ll help ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply of materials by working closely with production schedulers, maintaining optimal inventory levels, and supporting site manufacturing requirements. You will serve as a key link between Supply Chain planning and tactical procurement execution.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary contact for site purchasing activities, managing the purchase order life cycle from creation through delivery and invoice payment.
  • Execute MRP buying processes and perform core SAP tasks, including purchase order creation and release, monitoring delivery dates, and regular inventory level reviews.
  • Develop and implement safety stock strategies to mitigate supply disruptions while optimizing working capital.
  • Collaborate daily with production schedulers to align material deliveries with manufacturing priorities.
  • Support site functions, including Manufacturing, Capital, and Maintenance, with tactical purchasing needs and manage invoice discrepancies and vendor invoicing and payment issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Supply Chain; or 5 years of equivalent experience in a cGMP manufacturing or regulated industry.
  • Strong understanding of MRP concepts, purchasing strategies, and Supply Chain operations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to react quickly to scheduling changes.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

The following qualifications will give you a competitive edge:

  • 3 years of experience in Purchasing, Buying, or Site Procurement.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems, with SAP preferred.
  • Experience supporting tactical procurement activities in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with inventory management, safety stock strategies, and material availability planning.
  • Experience working in a cGMP or regulated industry.
