Responsibilities
- Training and developing the basic skills needed for installation tasks
- Identify, pull, cut, wrap, hang, and test cable runs according to functional and cable riser diagrams
- Install a wide variety of technology in different locations
- Prepare equipment racks for staging of equipment, including wire lacing, installation of power strips, grounding bars, jack-fields, etc.
- Read and understand functional design drawings, cable riser diagrams, and rack elevations
- Mount base build equipment such as monitor mounts, ceiling speakers, microphones, and projectors
- Able to provide a consistent level of technical performance and flexibility in work schedules, including weekends and overtime
- Provide daily feedback to more senior install techs, Site Superintendents, and management
- Build and wire custom panels from engineering drawings
- Assist in fiber optic cable handling and installation
- Maintain an organized work environment, ensuring cleanliness and documentation
- Track and maintain personal licenses, certifications, and qualifications
- Keep detailed records of time worked on specific projects for timesheet entry and work done reporting
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- AVIXA CTS Certification (will begin online and book self-study for CTS)
- OSHA 30 Certificate obtained within 6 months
- Washington Electrical Trainee (06) training card (must meet Washington State Department of Labor & Industries requirements)
- Familiarity with a wide range of audio, video, and networking equipment
- Basic carpentry and/or installation skills
- Proficient use and safety with power tools
- Good verbal communication and customer service skills
- Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical problems
- Valid drivers license and adherence to insurance requirements
Qualifications
- One year of fabrication technician or related industry experience desired
Skills
- Willingness to obtain a Washington Electrical Trainee (06) training card
- Familiarity with low voltage electrical concepts
- Basic carpentry and/or installation skills
- Proficient use and safety with power tools
- Good verbal communication and customer service skills
- Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical problems
