About the Role

Be the face of Auction.com, the nation’s leading online real estate marketplace, and represent the company by conducting, co-hosting, and otherwise participating in live auctions, traditionally held on the courthouse steps. Interact with bidders while performing the necessary tasks to successfully complete an auction and multitask to ensure all required processes have been met. Help your local community thrive by educating customers on how to participate in auctions and helping to turn houses into homes.

The territory is centered around Brunswick, GA, but expect to drive up to 2 hours to travel to county courthouse auctions in surrounding areas.

Schedule

Auctions are held the first Tuesday of each month. Additionally, there will be required training sessions, administrative tasks, and available resources to provide opportunities to improve skills while earning additional compensation. Each auction day typically requires anywhere from 4 - 8 hours of work. On average, you will work between 10-20 hours per month; however, hours fluctuate and are not guaranteed.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the highest level of professionalism with customers and on-site event location staff such as deputies, government employees, attorneys, etc.
  • Facilitate auction day processes.
  • Maintain event equipment and materials.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on customer resources.
  • Handle professional communication and networking.
  • Collect customer information using proprietary software.
  • Perform auctioneering and bid tracking.
  • Complete customer receipts and event reports.
  • Facilitate on-the-job training for event support roles.
  • Participate in and contribute to scheduled training and team calls.
  • Complete all tasks with high quality, efficiency, and attention to detail.

Upon completion of training, you may be eligible for promotion into the role of Auction Coordinator 1, where you will manage various functions of auctions and events both independently and with a team.

Requirements

  • Enjoys working in customer service and interacting with and helping people.
  • Tech-savvy with excellent technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Great adaptability and ability to quickly grasp new concepts.
  • Able to achieve high performance while managing several assignments.
  • Thrives in dynamic environments and can think quickly on their feet.
  • Works well independently and as a team while maintaining a team mindset.
  • Comfortable leading and interacting with a crowd.
  • Patient, clear, and concise when talking to customers.
  • Open to feedback and coaching.
  • High school diploma or equivalent as a minimum level of education.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when needed.
  • Ability to stand for long hours and outside in all weather conditions.
  • Can regularly travel up to 2 hours to event locations in a personal vehicle.
  • Must be able to attend 3-6 training sessions per month in person or remotely.

Prior auction experience is appreciated but not required.
