Associate Attorney, South Dakota

About the role

We are seeking a full-time Associate Attorney to join our firm's practice in South Dakota. The ideal candidate will have experience drafting legal documents, strong organizational skills, and a willingness to handle a heavy workload.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and supervise a heavy & diversified caseload of the Firm’s clients in South Dakota
• Communicate with clients regarding their respective matters
• Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, review and draft agreements, etc.
• Communicate with opposing parties to resolve/settle claims
• Conduct legal research related to simple and complex issues in contract law and other areas of consumer law
• May be required to travel for in court appearances

Requirements

• Currently admitted to practice law in South Dakota
• At least 1 year of relevant experience at a law firm
• Superior organizational & time-management skills to meet strict deadlines
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills
• Highest ethical standards and professional integrity
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work easily with senior management and employees at all levels throughout the organization
• Strong legal research skills -- proficiency in LexisNexis is a plus

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
