A top ranked "Best Places to Work" is seeking an Associate Attorney, ideally with Municipal Law experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive legal counsel to municipalities and government entities on a variety of issues including land use, zoning, code enforcement, public contracts, public finance, and more.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, ordinances, resolutions, and other legal documents.
  • Represent municipalities in litigation, administrative proceedings, and negotiations.
  • Research and analyze complex legal issues and provide clear, concise, and practical legal advice.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored legal solutions.
  • Keep abreast of legislative changes that may affect the company and its clients.
  • Collaborate with a team of attorneys and support staff to ensure the best representation for our clients.

Qualifications

  • A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the state bar.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in municipal law, with a strong focus on government and municipalities, code enforcement, and related areas.
  • Proven experience in representing or advising public entities, including cities, counties, and special districts.
  • Strong litigation skills with the ability to effectively argue a case.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues in clear, understandable language.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and provide practical legal solutions.
  • High ethical standards and professional integrity.
  • Ability to work independently but also collaborate effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
