Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day responsibilities of running a case, including interviewing witnesses, reviewing electronically stored documents, drafting pleadings and various motions and briefs.
- Conduct and defend depositions, interact with clients and opposing counsel, and attend court appearances.
- Provide advice and counsel on workplace law issues, such as wage and hour, employee relations, risk mitigation, ADA and other workplace accommodations, employment agreements, reductions-in-force, and employment-related policies.
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of relevant labor and employment litigation experience.
- Knowledge of federal and state labor & employment laws (e.g., Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, ADEA, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, trade secret law, and similar state laws).
- Admission to practice law in New York (state and federal courts) is mandatory.
- Strong academic credentials and excellent communication and writing skills.
Pay
The compensation range for this position is $275,000 - $310,000 per year. Offers are typically made below the top of the range and are based on relevant skills, training, experience, education, licensure or certification, and market and firm factors. Successful candidates are also eligible for a discretionary bonus.
