Responsibilities
- Represent clients involved in various transportation related incidents, including auto accidents, tractor/trailer collisions, bus accidents, crane mishaps, dump truck incidents, fatalities, and motor vehicle accidents (MVA)
- Provide comprehensive legal counsel and defense strategies to individuals, businesses, and insurance companies operating within the transportation/trucking industry
- Conduct thorough investigations into accidents, analyze evidence, assess liability, and develop defense strategies tailored to each case's unique circumstances
- Represent clients in negotiations, mediation, and court proceedings
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
- Participate in case strategy discussions and negotiations
- Manage case files and maintain accurate and organized records
- Attend continuing legal education courses to stay current on legal developments
Requirements
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the State Bar of Texas
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in litigation/insurance defense
- Strong research and writing skills
- Excellent oral communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Willingness to travel when necessary
Skills
- Experience in transportation and personal injury law
- Proficiency in drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests
- Experience in preparing for and attending depositions, hearings, and trials
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
- Knowledge of relevant legal developments and trends
