We've partnered with a growing law firm with a sophisticated commercial real estate and affordable housing practice seeking a mid-level attorney to join their team in Buffalo, NY.
About the role
This position offers the opportunity to work on complex, multi-layered commercial and multifamily housing transactions, advising developers on projects that create and preserve affordable housing. You will collaborate closely with experienced attorneys and clients, taking on meaningful responsibility and growth potential within a specialized practice.
Responsibilities
- Represent owners and developers of commercial and multifamily real estate.
- Support complex acquisitions and dispositions.
- Work on joint ventures and development transactions.
- Assist with real estate financing transactions.
- Draft, review, and negotiate sophisticated transaction documents.
- Support the team in managing deals from inception through closing.
- Collaborate with partners, clients, and other members of the deal team.
- Potentially supervise more junior members of the deal team as experience permits.
Requirements
- 3-6 years of transactional commercial real estate experience.
- Meaningful experience with commercial and/or multifamily real estate.
- Experience representing owners, developers, or similar sophisticated clients.
- Hands-on experience with several of the following: acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, development, or real estate financing.
- Strong drafting and editing skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong academic credentials.
- Ability to take ownership of matters and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Affordable housing experience is a plus, particularly LIHTC or other sophisticated affordable housing transactions.
