About the role

We are seeking an Associate Attorney to join our team in Enfield, CT. Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively and appropriately with team members and outside parties
  • Draft, review, and file legal pleadings, motions, discovery, etc., in furtherance of active litigation files
  • Review litigation case files and pleadings to determine appropriate action
  • Advocate on behalf of the client’s interests at various litigation settings
  • Utilize internal proprietary software to properly update and document the status of each account in the assigned inventory
  • Analyze and process litigation inventory reports and litigation files to ensure proper litigation workflow pursuant to firm and client expectations
  • Comply with all client and firm standard operating procedures
  • Travel to various courtrooms within the branch office footprint as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Admitted to practice law and in good standing in Connecticut
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly motivated self-starter
  • Eagerness to learn
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a large caseload
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with individuals or groups
  • Ability to operate a computer, phone, or equivalent device
  • Ability to complete a minimum 40-hour flexible workweek schedule
  • Ability to read and comprehend position-specific documents and correspondence

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of litigation/trial experience
  • Working knowledge of civil procedure
  • Debt collection experience
  • Prior experience in a high-volume environment

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift five pounds or greater
  • Ability to sit 90% of the workday at times
  • Ability to bend at the waist and be mobile when needed
  • Ability to concentrate and use critical thinking

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $80,000–$95,000 per year, plus applicable bonus.
