This position is based in our St. George, Utah office. We are seeking an attorney who is licensed to practice law in the state of Utah. If you are not licensed to practice law in Utah, you are not eligible for this position.

About the role

We are looking for the next associate attorney to assist in providing legal counsel to clients. You will work closely with our senior partners and associates, conduct legal research, draft documents, and maintain client files. If you’ve recently graduated from law school, have excellent fact-finding and communication skills, and are ready to jump-start your career in the legal industry, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with senior associates, paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently
  • Organize and maintain files to ensure accuracy for other attorneys, paralegals, and staff
  • Perform legal research, prepare for and attend hearings or other legal proceedings, and give general counsel under the supervision of senior associate attorneys
  • Analyze conflicts in legal matters, advise clients on solutions, and negotiate on behalf of clients
  • Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings
  • Investigate and gather evidence related to personal injury cases, including police reports, medical records, and witness statements
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests
  • Negotiate with insurance companies and opposing counsel to reach a settlement agreement
  • Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and arbitrations
  • Attend depositions and conduct witness interviews
  • Provide clients with regular updates on the status of their case
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals to develop legal strategies and arguments
  • Maintain accurate and complete case files and documentation

Requirements

  • Active member of the American Bar Association (ABA)
  • Successfully passed the Utah state bar exam
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Utah
  • Experience practicing personal injury law
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills
  • Ability to manage a caseload and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Proven track record of successful settlements and verdicts
  • Experience with case management software and technology
  • Solution-focused, kind, compassionate, service-oriented, respectful, collaborative, authentic, consistent, responsible, trustworthy, and accountable for results
  • Spanish language skills are helpful but not necessary

Pay

$92,000 - $180,000 yearly
