What You'll Do as the Associate Attorney
- Handle criminal and family law matters from intake through resolution
- Represent clients in court, hearings, and other legal proceedings
- Manage a caseload with significant independence
- Develop case strategy and exercise sound independent legal judgment
- Meet with clients and build strong, professional client relationships
- Prepare pleadings, motions, legal correspondence, and other legal documents
- Work closely with a paralegal and remote support resources
- Manage the daily operations of the Tulsa office
- Build and grow a personal book of business and overall office practice
- Consult with experienced attorneys throughout the firm when appropriate
- Take ownership of the Tulsa office while benefiting from the infrastructure of a larger Oklahoma law firm
Must-Haves as the Associate Attorney
- Active Oklahoma Bar license and good standing
- Strong interest in criminal law, family law, or both
- Ability to work independently without an on-site supervising attorney
- Strong courtroom presence and communication skills
- Excellent organization and case management abilities
- Strong professional judgment and decision-making skills
- Self-direction, initiative, and accountability
- Entrepreneurial mindset and genuine interest in building a practice
Nice-to-Haves as the Associate Attorney
- Prior experience handling criminal law matters
- Prior experience handling family law matters
- Existing courtroom experience
- Experience independently managing a caseload
- Existing referral network or developing book of business
- Big Law or larger firm experience, although it is not required
