About The Opportunity
Our client is a well-established boutique law firm seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with at least 1 year of legal experience to join its growing practice. The ideal candidate will have experience in general civil litigation and/or local government representation and will have the opportunity to develop meaningful courtroom, research, drafting, and client-management experience. This position is well suited for a self-starter who enjoys a collaborative small-firm environment and is comfortable managing multiple matters and competing deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Assist with all aspects of civil litigation and trial preparation.
- Conduct legal research and analyze applicable statutes, regulations, case law, and procedural requirements.
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, correspondence, and other legal documents.
- Analyze, review, and summarize legal documents and case materials.
- Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and other parties.
- Represent county and municipal governments at local meetings and proceedings.
- Provide legal guidance and counsel to local government entities and their departments.
- Assist with case strategy, discovery, hearings, and other litigation matters.
- Manage multiple client matters while meeting established deadlines and maintaining high-quality work product.
- Work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and staff.
- Maintain organized case files and follow established firm procedures.
- Support additional legal and administrative matters as needed.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in Georgia.
- At least 1 year of legal experience; law firm experience is preferred but not required.
- Experience in civil litigation and/or representation of local governments is strongly preferred.
- Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to draft clear, well-organized legal documents.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple matters, prioritize assignments, and meet strict deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and client-service skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Self-motivated and eager to develop a long-term legal career in a small-firm environment.
