Associate Attorney

This position is based in our St. George, Utah, office. We are seeking an attorney who is licensed to practice law in the state of Utah. You will work closely with our senior partners and associates, conduct legal research, draft documents, and maintain client files. We encourage only Utah-licensed attorneys to apply.We are looking for people who are:Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law schoolAdmission to the Utah State BarExperience practicing personal injury lawStrong negotiation and communication skillsExcellent legal research and writing skillsAbility to manage a caseload and prioritize tasks effectivelyProven track record of successful settlements and verdictsExperience with case management software and technologySolution FocusedKind and compassionateService-orientedRespectfulCollaborativeAuthentic and realConsistentResponsible and trustworthyAccountable for resultsSpanish is helpful but not necessaryWillingness to learn from senior attorneys to meet our client needs and grow our client baseExceptional communication skills and problem-solving skills needed in order to work with all levels of staff and our clientsMember in good standing and actively involved with the ABA (American Bar Association)Successful completion of the bar examCompletion of a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school Responsibilities Investigate and gather evidence related to personal injury cases, including police reports, medical records, and witness statementsDraft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requestsNegotiate with insurance companies and opposing counsel to reach a settlement agreementRepresent clients in court hearings, mediations, and arbitrationsAttend depositions and conduct witness interviewsProvide clients with regular updates on the status of their caseCollaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals to develop legal strategies and argumentsMaintain accurate and complete case files and documentationAttend court hearings or other legal proceedings, perform legal research, and work with senior associate attorneys to provide legal adviceKeep files organized to make sure the most recent updates are accessible to other attorneys, paralegals, and staffAssist clients in determining a proper solution to legal conflicts and determine the best course of actionCollaborate with clients and senior associates and other staff to move cases toward resolution efficientlyDraft documents such as correspondence, pleadings, motions, briefs, affidavits, settlement agreements, and contracts to be used proceedings and contract negotiations
