Associate Attorney

About the role

Pappas Hayden Westberg & Jackson PC is a creditor’s rights and civil litigation law firm based in Overland Park, KS. They are seeking an attorney licensed and residing in Arkansas (also holding a MO / KS / CO license is preferred but not required).

Responsibilities

• Ability to draft correspondence, pleadings, discovery requests, and responses, settlement agreements, and other legal documents as necessary
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume role (including keeping up with emails and voicemail)
• Ability to work closely with support staff and other attorneys to maximize efficiency
• Ability to communicate with clients, opposing attorneys and pro se litigants in a professional and respectful manner
• Ability to exercise independent judgment related to case progress and resolution
• Ability to make weekly court appearances (including traveling) for dockets, motion hearings and trial
• Performing all other duties and projects assigned by partners

Requirements

• Minimum office hours of 8:00am to 5:30pm for Full Time
• Salary is commensurate with experience

Qualifications

• Attorney licensed and residing in Arkansas
• Preferred to hold a MO / KS / CO license
• Prior civil litigation experience is preferred but not required
• Experience with creditor’s rights is also preferred but not required
