Associate Attorney
About the role
The Office of the New York State Attorney General (OAG) seeks a litigator to serve in the Buffalo Regional Office (RO). The RO handles various types of litigation, including federal and state court cases, consumer, charities, and social and economic justice matters.
Responsibilities
- Represent the state, its agencies, and officers in federal and state court litigation
- Handle all phases of investigations and litigation, from commencement through trial
- Write, analyze, organize, negotiate, and supervise cases
- Experience in federal courts is preferred
- Familiarity with the Court of Claims and/or Mental Hygiene Law is a plus
Requirements
- Minimum of three (3) years of litigation experience
- Reside in New York state and be admitted to practice law in New York state
- Be a citizen of the United States
- A two (2) year commitment upon hiring

- Strong writing, analytical, organizational, negotiation, and supervisory skills
- Diverse background encouraged to apply

- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Knowledge of legal procedures and court systems

Pay
