Associate Attorney

Responsibilities

• Manage your own caseload from inception to resolution, drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests while meticulously adhering to deadlines.
• Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trials, gaining invaluable courtroom experience.
• Collaborate closely with clients, experts, and fellow attorneys to devise effective litigation strategies.
• Provide clear and regular communication with clients, including updates and interim status reports on their cases.
• Conduct in-depth legal research and prepare memoranda to bolster case strategies.
• Work alongside partners and senior attorneys to ensure seamless case management.
• Draft and argue dispositive motions.
• Respond to discovery requests.
• Take and defend fact witness and expert depositions.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Admission to the New Hampshire State Bar (essential prerequisite).
• Bar admission in Maine and/or Vermont, or a sufficient UBE score to waive into one or both jurisdictions (considered a plus).
• At least four (4) years of prior civil litigation experience.
• Experience in both New Hampshire state and federal courts.
• Experience trying cases in NH courts, taking/defending depositions, ADR experience, and settlement negotiations.
• Strong advocacy skills and proficiency in legal research.
• Self-starter with attention to detail and effective communication skills.

Pay

Competitive salary range of $120,000-$140,000, commensurate with experience.
