Associate Attorney

About the role

MG+M The Law Firm has an immediate opening for an Associate Attorney in our New York office. MG+M is a nationally renowned litigation law firm concentrating on complex civil matters, with expertise in toxic tort, general liability, complex product liability, local government, and commercial litigation. The firm approaches litigation as a unified team, integrating efforts with clients to advance their interests and deliver optimal results at the best possible value.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a general liability and labor law litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
• Conduct and defend depositions.
• Prepare witnesses for depositions and trial.
• Review and analyze discovery requests and responses.
• Draft and respond to discovery, pleadings, motions, and other litigation filings.
• Take lead roles in plaintiff and expert witness depositions.
• Assist with trial preparation and trial support.
• Collaborate with partners, clients, and team members to develop case strategy.
• Maintain accurate and timely billing and time records.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Minimum of three (3) years of litigation experience in one or more of the following practice areas: Labor Law, General Liability.
• Admitted to practice in New York (New Jersey admission a plus).
• Experience with motion practice and depositions.
• Experience taking lead in plaintiff and expert depositions.
• Capable of independent work.
• Work in an organized and efficient manner.
• Superior research and writing skills.
• Ability to multi‑task.
• Ability to analyze complex matters.
