Associate Attorney

MG+M The Law Firm (MG+M) has an immediate opening for an Associate Attorney to support the toxic tort practice in our Chicago office. MG+M is a nationally renowned litigation firm focused on complex civil matters. Our work is diverse but concentrated in toxic tort, complex product liability, local government, general liability, and commercial litigation. We approach every case as a unified team, working closely with our clients to advance their interests wherever they do business. You will handle significant matters, work alongside experienced trial attorneys, and have a direct hand in shaping case strategy. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Independently manage a litigation caseload from case intake through resolution, including case assessment and strategy developmentTake and defend depositions, including lead examination of plaintiffs and expert witnessesPrepare witnesses for deposition and trialReview and analyze incoming discovery requests, and draft discovery requests and responsesDraft and argue pleadings and motions, including dispositive and evidentiary motionsPrepare for and support trial, including exhibit and witness preparation, motions in limine, and trial briefsCommunicate regularly with clients on case status, strategy, and developmentsCollaborate with partners and colleagues across the firm's offices to share strategy and best practicesMaintain accurate, timely time records Candidate Qualifications And Personal Attributes Juris Doctor from an accredited law schoolAdmitted to practice in Illinois with Missouri preferredMinimum of one (1) year defense litigation experience Demonstrated experience with motion practice and depositionsExperience taking the lead in plaintiff and expert depositionsSuperior legal research and writing skillsStrong analytical ability, including the ability to evaluate and break down complex, fact-intensive mattersHighly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentStrong problem-solving, communication, and client service skillsDependable and self-motivated, able to work both independently and collaborativelyProfessional and flexible, with a record of consistent punctuality and meeting deadlinesWillingness to assist wherever neededA positive attitude that contributes to team spirit and supports the success of colleagues Why Should You Apply?
