Associate Attorney
About the Role
Represent institutional mortgage lenders and servicers in bankruptcy matters with a focus on protecting and enforcing secured-creditor rights in Chapters 7, 13, and 11. Provide end-to-end legal strategy across the lifecycle of a bankruptcy case, including proof of claim, motions for relief from stay, plan review and objection, loan modification and loss-mitigation oversight, and post-petition compliance. Advise clients on complex bankruptcy, servicing, and investor-guideline issues to ensure regulatory compliance, minimize financial risk, and maximize recoveries while maintaining borrower-facing and court-facing credibility.
Responsibilities
- Represent creditors in Florida Bankruptcy Courts
- Develop and execute legal strategies for bankruptcy cases
- File and manage proofs of claim and motions for relief from stay
- Review and object to bankruptcy plans
- Oversee loan modifications and loss-mitigation efforts
- Ensure post-petition compliance
- Analyze case law and provide recommendations
- Attend hearings and mediations throughout the State of Florida
- Manage a high case volume in a fast-paced environment
- Work a case file from start to finish
Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience as an Attorney in the Bankruptcy arena
- At least 1 year of experience representing creditors in Florida Bankruptcy Courts
- Active member of the Bar in good standing
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple responsibilities and prioritize tasks
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and rules related to bankruptcy
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
